Image sequence
Hey all, this seems like a newbie question. I’m not sure if something was changed in AE 2023, but I can’t seem to import an image sequence correctly.
I select my file, and click “Tiff sequence” but AE only imports one photo. If I try and select all of the photos for import, the “Tiff Sequence” box disappears…
I’ve also checked the interpret footage > frame rate to make sure my settings are correct. What am I missing here?

Update: Jpeg sequence imports just fine, so it must be something with Tiff that I’m not doing correctly

I think it will only recognise it as a seq if the numbers (001,002, etc) are at the end

Yes, I thought same as Andy, I think it only imports if all the filenames end in the frame number but they have to be prefixed with the right amount of zeros so the quantity of digits at the end of the name is the same. So it could be 4 digits which would run from filename_0000.tiff, filename_0001.tiff through to filename_9999.tiff.

Thank you, everyone. I guess the numbers have to be at the end with a Tiff sequence even though AE will import these files as a Jpeg sequences, regardless of where the numbers are…weird.

Its an old school workflow and most of us old f*rts can attest that its a PITA but a must know process 🙂
