  • Hi Carlos,

You’ll need to adjust the levels in the Pro-Amp tab in the Blackmagic DeckLink preferences instead.

    Hi,

When capturing via firewire, use the Easy Setups provided by Apple.

After capturing, go into Easy Setups again, choose Blackmagic NTSC – DV, create a new sequence and drop the captured clips into that sequence.

    Hi George,

From the crash log you had provided, it seems that everything points to Apple being the culprit of the crash. However, we’ll definitely look into how this can be resolved but we’ll need to speak to the Apple guys first as we have no prior knowledge of any issues that may crop up.

Yup, the DeckLink card must be installed to use FrameLink.

    Hi Michelle,

Did you run the installer after upgrading to Final Cut Pro 5? That needs to be done for the easy setups to be installed.

    Hi Rory,

Is a DeckLink card installed in this system?

What format is the QT movie ? FrameLink works only with uncompressed Quicktime so if your clip is in DVCPRO HD or DV, it will not mount.

    Hi Paul,

[paul nevison] “in the device control options what should i set as the capture offset?”

Capture offsets may be different with each VTR you use, so it’s best to experiment to find the one that works with your deck.

    Hi,

[Arwa Merchant] “I made sure that video playback is set to BlackMagic HDTV 25Hz – 10bit (1920×1080).”

This should be set to “Blackmagic HDTV 25Hz – 8bit” instead as per configured by our Easy Setups.

Make sure you turn on the down conversion option in the Blackmagic DeckLink Preferences when you’re send the video to a SD deck.

    regards
