  • Blackmagic FrameLink – Not mounting

Posted by Rory Hinds on December 4, 2005 at 7:09 pm

    Hi there

I can’t seem to get Framelink to mount a .mov file.

I have my QT file on my desktop and I drag it over the Framelink application icon and nothing happens.

Am I missing something here to get the QT to mount as a disc image with DPX frames?

    Thanks
    Rory

    Hi Rory,

Is a DeckLink card installed in this system?

What format is the QT movie ? FrameLink works only with uncompressed Quicktime so if your clip is in DVCPRO HD or DV, it will not mount.

    Hi Rory,

Further to Kristian’s comments, QT movies can be mounted with FrameLink for Mac. On PC, FrameLink will mount AVI movies. Regardless of whether the movies are QT or AVI, they also need to be uncompressed.

Yup, the DeckLink card must be installed to use FrameLink.

    Hi Guys

Thanks for the info. I do have the Decklink card installed on the system and am working with 8bit Uncompressed QT files which have the .mov extention at the end of the file name.

I did get Framelink to work once or twice but no it doesn’t work at all.

I’m on Mac OS 10.4.3, latest QT, latest Decklink drives etc

    Thanks
    Rory
