BM Decklink and Aperture Video Crash Fix
Any estimate on a fix for the BM Decklink drivers that are currently crashing Apple Aperture.
I’d like to be able to use the BM Card but can’t have the card and Aperture runnning at the same time.
This is a problem as I am using the Aperture as an ingest for Shake 4 which uses the bcast monitor feature of BM Decklink.

Hi George,
From the crash log you had provided, it seems that everything points to Apple being the culprit of the crash. However, we’ll definitely look into how this can be resolved but we’ll need to speak to the Apple guys first as we have no prior knowledge of any issues that may crop up.

We’re waiting on a copy of Aperture to test this problem and we should receive it any day now. In the meanwhile, can you please go in to the DeckLink PrefPane, disable the video desktop and restart your Mac. Now see if Aperture works without crashing. Please let us know as it would be very helpful to know if this works around the problem. Disabling the DeckLink desktop will still enable you to output to a broadcast monitor from Shake and other video applications. I think the crash you are seeing is an OpenGL-related problem introduced in Mac OS X 10.4.3. If my guess is correct, then disabling the DeckLink desktop will work around this issue while it continues to be investigated by Apple and Blackmagic Design.
