Okay, we are not really that stupid but………

Using firewire into the Blackmagic Extreme on FCP is not working right. We can not figure out how to set the sequence settings for DV using the Blackmagic-DV easy setup. Meaning pixel size is not right. Even in this setting with the BM-Dv easy setup we have to render every clip

So we digitized in using FCP built in DV-NTSC. When we put the clips on the timeline we have to render every clip even though we are set to DV-NTSC easy setup. This is just dumb old plain video no fancy filters!!!!! Or color corrections.

    Here is the system parts.

    We have
    Dual 1 Ghz G4
    1.25 GB RAM
    Tiger 10.4.2
    FCP 5.0
    BM driver 5.1.2

So if we wanted to use the BM-DV easy set how do we get around the render issue and if that doesn’t work or if we wanted to use the FCP DV-NTSC easy setup how do we avoid rendering all the time.

    Hi,

When capturing via firewire, use the Easy Setups provided by Apple.

After capturing, go into Easy Setups again, choose Blackmagic NTSC – DV, create a new sequence and drop the captured clips into that sequence.

    regards
