I’m pretty sure that in a 23.98p HD project, the Avid expects 24TC. But, if you go to the project window and switch the project type to 23.976p NTSC, you should be able to capture with 29.97TC. Then you can flip the project back to HD. Worth a try, I guess.

If it’s just an AIF or WAV, and it is 48.000 samples/second, that’s what matters. Audio does not really have a framerate (although it can have one within the Avid), and 48K should remain 48K.

Check the version matrix and note that you should be on QT 7.6.4, not 7.6.3. Those things matter a great deal. 7.6.3 was never approved for any version of MC.

First things first: 4.0.2 was never qualified to run under Snow Leopard (10.6), so you’ll need to update to 4.0.4 or 4.0.5 first.

If you use MetaFuze to transcode to MXF, you can simply choose “Letterbox”. It will create 2:1 wth Ltbx inside 16×9. What was 16×9 will remain 16×9.

That baby should still fly with MC4. It’s the number three config on the list.

Not sure which one the 2007 Mac Pro is, but I’m betting this is at least dual-dual 2.66, which is in this list.

I think the OP is referring to the “old” TC plugin, which is not realtime (unless you can still find the unofficial RT version that floated around for a while).

I used to have some prefab clips with burnins at several hours in order to add them (as RT effect with a PIP) on a top layer.

Title tool seems seriously flawed in 4.0.5. Had similar issues, different aligning happening on screen compared to what I had created in the tool.
Might be better to promote to Marquee?

Very likely that your NTSC dub is 23.976fps.
Also, it might be that the audio has a 25fps timecode, but still has content matching a 24.00fps film.
