“bus error” in thread “mainthread”, at address 0x0
I have added red files into red rushes and then created QT wrappers and an ALE.
I have then imported the QT wrappers into AVID.
I then select the clips and try to import the ALE. I then get an error which then crashes the avid.
The error is
“bus error” in thread “mainthread”, at address 0x0
I have taken all the external drives off my computer and still the same error.
does anyone know how to get around this?OSX 10.6.2
processor 2.16 ghz intel
3gb ram

First things first: 4.0.2 was never qualified to run under Snow Leopard (10.6), so you’ll need to update to 4.0.4 or 4.0.5 first.

I was sent this information by Avid customer help:
This is a bug and has been logged for resaolution. I dont know when that will be right now but in the interim you can get around it by ALWAYS selecting the “Text” tab before the “Script” tab, and the error won’t occur. Also, if you disables AMA, the error won’t occur.
And selecting the “Text” tab works

I did try it on the latest update of avid and the bug was still there.
I am a little confused about what an AMA is. do you know?
I will try the work around and see how it goes.
