Issues Importing Audio
Okay this one is a doozie… I am running on a
– Mac OSX version 10.6.2 (Infamous snow leopard)
– 2×2.66 GHz Quad Core Intel Xenon
– 6GB 1066 MHz DDR3Version of Avid is 4.0.5
Version of Quicktime is Pro 7.6.3
Version of Sorenson is 5.1.1So here’s the issue, all around I’m having problems with audio importing and exporting. I use to be able to export a file from Avid using Uncompressed and none for audio, which I can still do. I would then take that file and go to QuicktimePro to export audio depending on what I needed, or export an H.264 with compressed audio etc. Now any audio export attempt out of Quicktime fails.
*Apple Lossless will not export from Avid
*If I try importing mp3s or some aiff’s Avid wont recognize it, unless I run it through itunes to create the aiff or mp3. (I think it may have to do with the bit rate of the audio files I’m trying to bring in, but that was never an issue in the old avid, I would bring in anything.)Sorenson will not export audio…
I feel like some codec is missing but I can’t figure out which one, and or why it would be missing.
Please ask any questions… I need to figure this thing out.

Check the version matrix and note that you should be on QT 7.6.4, not 7.6.3. Those things matter a great deal. 7.6.3 was never approved for any version of MC.

I think you may be on to something here… only problem is that I have 10 installed and in utilities I have 7.6.3, when I go to install 7.6.4 it doesn’t let me… I’m now trying to uninstall ten in order to get 7.6.4 which is already proving to be challenging. I’ll keep you posted.
