title tool different system to system
Hi All,
I’m working on a show with a lot of full screen titles. I format everything perfectly on my system (Mac 10.6.2/Avid 4.0.5). We render locally so when I move the sequence to another edit bay (we’re all Mac 10.6.2/Avid 4.0.5) the titles have to be recreated. We all have the same font installed so everything should just recreate the way I formatted it, right? No so. The formatting gets completely altered. The leading really goes berserk so the lines are squished together and the word wrap even changes.
What gives? Is this a know issue? Anybody have a work around to make sure titles recreate as intended?

You could always just make em in photoshop. They’d always be the same no matter what.
man, I dunno what’s goin’ on from system to system. I’ve not heard of that before but so much changes with every (ahem) update they throw out now. Some bugs go away, new ones get introduced.

Brian, you mean re-rendered, right?
I’ve seen funky things happen with titles when 16×9 is on and titles were created in 4×3, or vise-verse.
Haven’t seen this yet, but I haven’t shared my project with another Mac.

It may help to confirm the EXACT same font on both machines. You could uninstall the font from machine A, and copy & install the font from machine B just to rule out different font builds…

Title tool seems seriously flawed in 4.0.5. Had similar issues, different aligning happening on screen compared to what I had created in the tool.
Might be better to promote to Marquee?
