If you have Motion, it’s keyer is much better than FCP’s…

If you can play out to the camera OK (and use it’s analog outputs to a TV or Monitor to make sure) you could just hit record and export that way… How are you exporting? via Print to Video or Edit to tape?

Is the green light on the video tracks in the sequence turned on? If not a black screen results.

You want the 2.3 or 2.7… they have faster motherboards than the 2.0 machine does. the 2.7 will render faster, and give you more RT preview, but editing in general on either should feel the same pretty much… Mom always said though, you can’t get too much computer, too much RAM or too fast a display card for running Motion…

Looks to me like it should work for 8 bit uncompressed…

No, but you can force a connection if you turn off the exact name checkbox in the reconnection dialog box.

I’ll bet that “Medium” in SnapZ doesn’t equal 50%… might try a different codec that you KNOW you can match exactly in FCP…

I’ve been running Spotlight on my media drives for months.. no problems don’t think… it’s useful to find those stills stored there or other media files you know are there, but can remember where they are I suppose, but it won’t hurt anything to use it on them.

To create a new audio output preset:
1 Choose Final Cut Pro > User Preferences, then click the Audio Outputs tab.
2 Choose a preset from the audio output Presets list, then click Edit or Duplicate.
3 In the Audio Outputs Preset Editor, enter a name and description for the preset.
4 Choose the number of audio channels you want to access on your audio interface.
5 For each pair of audio channels, choose Stereo to allow for panning clips between the pair
of channels, or choose Dual Mono so that each channel can be used as a discrete output.
6 Choose a downmix level for each pair of outputs.
7 Click OK, then click OK again.To change the default audio output settings assigned to all new sequences:
1 Choose Final Cut Pro > User Preferences, then click the Audio Outputs tab.
