I haven’t so far, but haven’t been running 4.5 in Tiger (running 5.02 here on 10.4.2). That really shouldn’t make any difference though you should be able to run OK with your setup I’d think.

Shane’s reponse should be followed… and QT Pro isn’t required at all to run FCP.

Try the version that Apple has in the download area… I think it will install sans OS 9. It’s version 1.1.

I don’t think Spotlight has anything to do with your file in use error.

Ya know? when I’m done with a project file it goes to a CD… every day I copy a project file I’m still working on to a flash drive, or another startup disk. Got several here…

MIght be QT Pro, but try trashing your preference files for FCP before you go and reinstall QT…

It’s a filter… the primatte keyer in the key filters… just export the file from FCP to Motion with the bkg on V1 and the forground on V2… then key it in motion using that fiilte , and your done. Don’t forget that you can cut out some of the green with the garbage matte in FCP or in Motion too, saving you from having to key out some the area…

You should probably keep your project files and these autosaves on your startup disk in your User’s documents folder… or keep the autosaves on another drive if you want… but keeping them on the media drives in theory might slow down the drives. These files are smallish and constantly are being rewritten and trashed… so media files could be fragmented a bit more if autosaves are kept there.
The Autosaves are backup copies of your project file.

Don’t know if it’s supposed to work that way, so can’t confirm it’s a “bug”… however why not just edit the material in instead of replacing the contents? I’d think you can use the replace command for this. You are attempting to replace contents with paste attributes right? Try replacing the edit with the replace edit command instead…
