I may be missing the point but how about,
consolidating/decomposing which will create all the clips and then naming the clips the usual way.

Depending on why you need to name the clips you can add comments to each segment and set the timeline to display these comments, or show them in an edl.

Or redo the whole job in fcp which is apparently the greatest invention since the wheel.

Adrenaline is a solid, and fairly robust workstation, the bob gives you all the profesional input and outputs you need in a serious broadcast facility, and if you also post audio then 16 audio tracks real time is cool, I’m not sure how many the mojo set up offers. If you have the cash I’d go with Adrenaline.

Not sure at what point you’re failing, it may be a simple problem, untich filter drives based on resolution in you’re settings, I think it’s either in media cration or general…

shoot first minute, leave camera locked off, treat yourself to a very long lunch, go back and shoot last minute, load to avid, mix from one to another, if nothing changes apart from the light then the story’s not worth following!

Or, follow the advice in thread, but when you’re loading back to avid load wild with no code at your on-line resolution with the beta running at full rate dmc.

If I understand the question then hold alt whilst dropping on your effect as opposed to adding a n extra vision track.

luckily I think I’ve cracked it bob, conflicting drive letters…

  • Dodgy mix probably, make a copy and try the omf, if it works then keep splitting the origional seq till you figure out which effect is creating the problem and either remove it or adjust it untill the error goes away…

April 5, 2006 at 4:36 pm in reply to: can’t relink a bin into the project

Try the relink again, be carefull when you reach the relink option, don’t tick @rekink only to present project, and tick all available drives…

Failing that, the media tool should show all the clips correctly, regardless. copy from the media tool to a new bin, then highlight your sequence and the clips in the new bin and, relink to selected…

Make sure the mediafile folders on the external drive are still correctly labeled or avid won’t recognise them.

The danger of importing the clips from the folder into a bin is that avid won’t recognise the links between audio and viseo files, leaving you with seperate clips for each…
