re-scsi- the plot thickens
Have tried every combination of cable/drive/scsi channel, same problem, hardware all seems ok,
still probs once I exceed more than 6 drives, or add more than one new drive…however, all seems ok if I boot in safe mode, so not a harware issue…
Any ideas what software/driver may be causing the problem, Avid STart up??????

well, you know the answer now – but you won’t want to do it. Start from Zero – reinstall the OS (clean), check your drives (which will probalby be ok), and then install the AVID software.

luckily I think I’ve cracked it bob, conflicting drive letters…
