I use resolve, but as a one(ish)stop shop, metafuze is fairly simple, and scans dpx folders really efficiently

too late now I’m sorry, but for next time, other answers are all correct, but. Use the effect editor’s crop, it will save you having to reopen title tool every time. promote the title first, then add invisibles, then step through segments to adjust crop, then add mixes as suggested. Very boring on a forum when people answer by suggesting using other software..

If you want to create a matte, which will make your work around work, then do exactly the same pan and zoom move, but, replace your still with a white field, mix it down and you have an matte, you can use this then as a matte/alpha matte for your cc, or whatever effect you wish to add.

    or…

lock the clips at bin level,

    or

get all your gfx in one bin, export as omf and just suck them back in when needed

    or
use Media Databe Viewer (freeware) to copy the mediafiles to a safe location, and just drag them back into the media files folder when necessary

Make sure you haven’t ticked “relink only to medai from this project”

Be systematic, find out what exactly is missing using decompose offline media only…is it tape based media, mixdowns etc etc

Check that all associated files are the same sample rate, if not convert them or allow realtime samp rate conversion in your audio project settings.

    Talk to the origional editor,

I’d work two differently named projects, then just open up each others bins and copy sequences across and relink to the media.
It’s all quite feasable, the greatest issue is for you both to keep track of who’s dealing with which version and where!

If their media appears in the media tool, have a look at stats and check resolution, file type..mxf/omf etc etc, it may have some clues and then come back for nore..

Their origional project settings maybe creating a problem, especially if they were using older hardware. But if you can see the media then you should be able to work around… check through their project rather than your site/user settings.
