    yamaha 01v96 with an aes card, it will do everything for you, with remote control of automation gain across midi or usb thrown in. Great workhourse, loads of inputs + dynamics.

    how were they locking their kit to the dvd, did you give them ltc audio??? Did they rip the dvd and then encode, possibly to a differant frame rate??? were they free running…

    can you open the project folder at windows level? If so, create a new project and then access the bins via file/open bin… if this fails fetch and copy the most recent bins(or most recent good bins) from the attic to a new folder on the desktop and then open them from the new project and copy their contents into fresh bins.

    Or,strip your sequence as far as you can, edls, whatever their type struggle with almost anything more complicated than a wipe, dissolves to and from material on the same spool may require you to specify a b reel etc when creating an edl.

    You may need to build a simplified sequence prior to pulling an edl,and be very carefull that you’re edl export settings and import settings are as close as they can be considering the differant packages.

    Edit B offer a few cool little free packages that might hel you.

    You mmay find that a medialess omf might be of more use.

    You can darken everything, take the chroma down and add some blue but however well you succeed with color correction you’ll probably find you’ll need to add a couple of lights to pull it off, a lens flare plug in or some spot color correction on a couple of street lamps or windows will help. Depending on your location, you’ll rarely see a night scene with no light sources…
