The latest version of plugin lets you transcode 5D/7D thru L&T without any issues with only one folder containing .mov and .thm files. I do it all the time. No-brainer.

If you work with RED proxy in FCP there is no need for reconnection: Color perfectly understands .r3d native format. Make sure you have all necessary software from RED website installed.

If you after broadcast legals you’d better use another filter – broadcast safe which primary function is to clip excessive levels of white, black, and saturation.

In cases of drastic speed changes, in yours it’s five times, you can’t expect FCP to respect precise numbers. It has something to do with math algorithm of FCP. Anyway, this sort of deficits in speed comprehension on part of FCP are likely to be neglected.

are we in agreement that FCPX has nothing to do with pro application? Sorry I wasn’t paying that much attention to this forum lately. Is that something we at last can agree upon and move on? I like when you call it “one trick plugin”. It is proper denomination.

When i faced similar problem once i used adobe media encoder. It did the job. Though I don’t remember whether I resorted to it because the structure was corrupted or because i haven’t sony software at hand.

The reason behind it is cache size. In System Settings in tab Memory & Cache increase Still cache, disk and RAM. Relaunch application.

Degree of being accurate depends on measurement scale you use. It’s very accurate within the concept of capture now.

you overreact, let me assure you that there is no problem with hdv codec in general, neither with any other one in Lion so far. You got yourself screwed up a little bit with upgrade.
