    Hi Guys

One of my clients has a problem with his compressor.
He has FCP Studio 3 installed.

Every time he drags a clip to the compressor – it crashes.

I tried to run Compressor repair, but it didn’t help.

Before I try to reinstall the program I would like to know if there another way to fix it.

    The clients Mac Specs:

    Mac Book Pro (1,1)
    1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo
    2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM
    Mac OS X 10.6.8

    Thanks

What clip Compressor crashes on? Format? codec?

Sony PMW-EX3, Canon Mark II 5D, FCS3 in Moscow

Digital Rebellion makes a small app called Compressor Repair. I’ve had similar issues and it’s helped fix things up for me.

every time I have any issue with Compressor, this sorts it: open Compressor, go to the Compressor menu and choose Reset Background Processing. Choose Reset and Cancel Jobs. Wait a minute. Then resubmit the job. If there’s still an error, it’s not the app, it’s the source material.

    Hi

It crashes from the first moment he installed the studio…
So I don’t think reset will help (and I think I did it as well)…

And about the source material – it crashes with different kind of clips, so it’s can’t be the source material…

I thought it could be somthing with his mac – it’s an old macbook pro (intel version).

Then a reinstall of FCS3 is in order. Once that’s done, run Software Update and keep running it until there are no more Pro Apps updates left to install.
