You should be able to add a shadow or a glow behind the names. That would allow them to stand out better. Another option might be to lower the opacity of the background video allowing the text to stand out better.

Put one picture on track 1 and the other picture on track 2. Now use “Track Motion” on both tracks to resize and position as desired.

Vegas does not. However, you might want to look at VirtualDub (free) which has many free plugins available – one of which does what you are requesting. I don’t have any links handy.

First of all, capturing and editing MPEG2 is NOT the best way to do things. Instead, you’d be better off running the TV signal to a convertor and capturing via firewire to standard DV-AVI files. These are meant to be edited.
Be that as it may, your best bet will probably be to render from VMS as DV-AVI and then let DVDA render back to MPEG2 allowing it to get the file size correct. I don’t know what render options are available for MPEG2 in VMS (is there a custom button???) to allow you to reduce the bitrate to be appropriate for the length of your video.

Vegas Movie Studio is a GREAT product – just doesn’t save VEG files. I’d never make fun of you for using VMS and am happy to help answer questions. The full version can even open VMS files (but VMS can’t open Vegas files). Here’s some of the major differences:

Your computer will boot fine without a mouse – you just won’t be able to MOVE the mouse. There’s nothing wrong with leaving the mouse attached as the shuttlepro is an entirely different device designed to do different things from the mouse.
As for they Vegas 6 settings, you can also find them in the Vegas 6 installation folder.

Sort of. You can add the secondary color corrector to an event, select the color you want changed, and then change it using the color wheel. Play with that and see if it’s satisfactory.

Sounds to me like you’re using Vegas Movie Studio. The full Vegas saves as .VEG – the other file type is used by the little brother.
