Absolutely. Just right-click the audio, choose “Channels”, and then pick the appropriate option. For example, left only would take the left channel and output it over both the left and right channels.

They are if you create your own presets that use those options! Just go to File – Render As – pick AVI as the type and then click on CUSTOM. Now pick the desired codec and any other options you desire and save your own preset. It should then appear in the batch render list.

You don’t need to install from CD. Instead, just download the most current version from Sony, install that, and then register it with the serial number you received.

You have a couple of options:

1) Put the pieces that need this effect added on a separate track and add the effect to that track
2) If the effect is automatable, add the proper automation envelopes and adjust them as needed.

Option 1 will probably be easiest.

I’ve never had any problems doing PIPs and they’ve always looked fine in the final result. I was trying to help with your particular question/situation but Vegas handles PIP just fine and very easily.

Printing to tape *IS* DV-AVI – NOT MPEG 2. You’ve lost quality by doing that. Instead, your original timeline should have been DV-AVI. You then do a PTT with that original footage. You ONLY go to MPEG2 when you want to go to DVD.

Yes, I would try rendering the project to a single DV-AVI file. Does that work? If yes, then put that one file on a new timeline a do a PTT with it. If now, where does it die? The same place? If yes, I would look closely at the footage at that place. Perhaps you have a bad piece of media.

The DVD player will take care of that. You don’t need to worry about changing anything in Vegas or Movie Studio.

I don’t know. Another possible solution would be to render to DV-AVI and then use your flash program to convert it.
