    Hi Folks:

Yet another question. I have created overlays of media generators to use for the starring … introduction names in my film… Since this is a film shot mostly outdoors green grass and other backdrops play havoc in being able to read the names of my stars in the film. I noticed on a Nicole Kidman/Sean Penn film last night that the names were in white but had a 3-D effect that made them stand out no matter what the footage in the background.

Any tips on how to make my names stand out in 3D or another way that I can use perhaps one solid light color for the names to add zest to the film? Hopefully I am staying within the bounds of technical questions here and that is okay… thanks again so much for your kind assistance… growing and learning in Vegas …

You should be able to add a shadow or a glow behind the names. That would allow them to stand out better. Another option might be to lower the opacity of the background video allowing the text to stand out better.

Another option would be if you used Vegas’s media generator-text – you have placement/properties/effects tab which can do a multitude of different options

    Cheers

Thanks Jeremy… by tweaking with the media templates I indeed came up with some decent 3D looking starring titles! Thanks so much
