It should, as long as you have Quicktime installed. Where are these files from? There are many types of mp4 and mov, some may not work with Vegas. You could in this case, use Streamclip, free app to convert them to something Vegas can work with.

You can also use Yahoo instant messenger to send large files peer to peer, no size limit. Just find each other on it, zip all the video files with the .veg and drag it on the yahoo instant messenger chat window, and the other will see a notice, (somone) is trying to send you a file, do you eccept? click yes and any size file can be sent.
Also Frank will need the same or newer version of Vegas to open your .veg file. What version are you using?

I use KeepVid to download YouTube videos.

WMV is a compressed delivery type format, not really suitable for editing. If the WMV files are SD, 720×480, try converting them to DV AVI and see if that helps.

Put the home made DVD in your DVDrom and select File, “Import DVD camcorder disc. I have also just copied the .vob files from the DVD to my hard drive, change the extention from .vob to .mpg and edited those.

Your options are to get a firewire camcorder that has a mic input or use the onboard camera mic, or get a firewire interface that’s compatible with Vegas, like a Canopus ADVC110.

You can connect the composite out of a camera and the audio out of a small mixer and a decent mic to the two RCA audio inputs.
There are higher end devices for this like the Black Magic Intensity Shuttle.

The problem here is it is very specific on the motherboard chipset needed to use this device. I built an i7 and have the Shuttle. This device can capture sd and HD via HDMI, compponent, s video and composite.

That would as John said, need to be done in DVDA. Unrelated but your audio track is recorded way to hot, looks like a square wave. If this is from your camera, does it have a mic attinuation option to turn down the audio level recorded?

Try setting your project properties to 5.1 audio and import. If that doesn’t work you can use a virtual audio cable and record it from winamp or what ever it does play from right into Vegas. You will have to sync up the audio to the video, but better that loosing the recording.

Vegas only runs on Windows, but you can run Windows on a Mac.

You can fix the small side piller issue by project settings, check Ajust media to better match project or render settings, It worked for me. I was suprised though when I tested rendering a SD mpeg for DVD from Vegas with the project settings set to match the HD footage, then just changed the projedct settings to SD widescreen for DVD and the files were identical in size and quality. With the settings set to HD, the editing looks great so I would do it that way. I used a 1080 60p video of a tiger and the SD widescreen video from it look fantastic for SD though.
