I just Make text events, hold ctrl and copy the event over to where I want it to play, choose the option to creat copies of the source media, then I just change the text in that event, and continue on that way.

Try opening a fresh emptey project, go to file, properties and the top right icon is the “Match media settings” Give that a shot.

The file paths are different with your new computer. Can you still ope your projects on your old computer and they work fine? If so, connect an external hard drive to it and save the .veg file to it BUT check “copy media with project”. Close Vegas. Then safely eject the external drive, connect that external drive to your new computer, navigate to it and double click the .veg file you juse made. All the projects files are in that folder and should open fine. Hope this helps, Danny

If I’m getting you right, You have video playing in the trimmer and the little preview there plays fine. Then you drag it to the timeline and the video clip right ubove it doesn’t play in the thumbmail. Once the video in on the timeline, it’s viewed in the main preview window. If you don’t see it or have accenedtly hid it, select view from the top, Windows layouts and select default layout. You should have your preview window back and that plays video from the timeline. have you looked into the 1080 60p cameras? I have some Panasonic TM700s and with a Vegas custom preset to handle the 60p, I can produce some great slow motion video. I think Canon and Sony make a 1080 60p camera mow too.

I always thought photo jpeg and ping were still photo formats, but can be used in Vegas as video when imported as frame sequences. Are these videos going to used on a mac? If not, why dont you use uncompressed avi or Cineform or another lossless format. Drive space is cheap now days. have you tried .mov without using the custom, Vaast? If the quality of the renders with alpha are usable, no harm in having an alpha channel.

Strange. Too high of a bitrate renders usually show as stutters in the video before the audio. What MP4s parameters are you rendering too? To eliminate the problem, try turning off GPU acceration, then try another audio file, and lowering the render bitrate. Let us know what you find.

Thanks you all. Weird it only happens on the sony Vegas forum, where it doesn’t on the other cow forums. Let me try it from another computer.

Does the full video play fine in media player? Vegas’s preview window usually doesn’t give the same frate as media player. Try the free file splitter app. You can split and play each chunk in media player, vlc, ect.

If your doing this for yourself to view, then John is right. If you want to make small clips from a large one without rendering, here’s a free app just for that. It can split and merge without rendering.
