Does Sony Vegas 9 support .mp4 and .mov files?
I am trying to edit some .mp4 and .mov files but it just comes out black on the preview window. I can only hear the sound. How can I fix this?

It should, as long as you have Quicktime installed. Where are these files from? There are many types of mp4 and mov, some may not work with Vegas. You could in this case, use Streamclip, free app to convert them to something Vegas can work with.
