    Hi Walter,

Please describe the simple steps to export a reference quicktime movie.

    Thanks,
    Craig

PS. I assume DVDSP 3 and 4 has a way to burn a simple “straight play” DVD as in DVDSP1.5. No menus, just play.

September 12, 2005 at 3:53 pm in reply to: Decklink 5.1 audio issue

    Hi,

This is not a valid option as the Firewire is going to add latencey to the audio and the way i was doing it in the oast aloowed for perfect sync. Also how do I layoff a downconverted DVCAM tape without audio out my SDI.

This is a bug and I do not want a work around because it used to work with the old drivers and the previous OSX.

    Thanks,
    Criag

  • Hi,

Your particular problem witht the screen brightening could have something to do with having “image & wireframe” or “show overlays” turned on in your canvas window.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

To be honest, we’ve been dealing with this issue for a while. I was dissappointed when I received my first Decklink SP two years ago and am still dissappointed today as I am running three decklink systems. Seems as though Blackmagic has the better codec and is adopting Apple’s codec to make certain things easier.

In all the responses from blackmagic over the years it is clear that Apple’s codec is broadcast quality but not near the caliber of the original Blackmagic uncompressed codecs. I run all my systems on OSX3.8 FCP4.5 and Decklink version 4.8. I still use the original blackmagic codec for all SD work, IT JUST LOOKS BETTER!!!

CHEERS for making the bomb codecs. Why aren’t we using them anymore??? Oh yeah, that’s right.

    Thanks,
    Craig

July 27, 2005 at 6:10 am in reply to: AJA Control Panel Down Conversion Bug

    Hi,

Presets do not help, just a bug, at least you caught it. What I’ve found as a solution is to hit escape ONCE right after the computer starts to capture the first clip in a batch, I simply click over the the AJA control panel, reset my settings and hit continue in FCP, small anoyance, but not tooo bad, I wish it was not like that but it is even on a completely clean system.

    Cool video

If you’ve got a budget; to get the highest quality possible, lay the animation off to digibeta tape at NTSC, take it to a post house and have them transfer it to PAL and burn you PAL DVDs. That is what I do and I make my clients pay the bill.

April 29, 2005 at 6:15 am in reply to: FCP 4.5 HD slow performance

    Try this,

    Turn off the following:

    1.Image and Wireframe (Image only)
2.Turn off Autosave vault(it sucks anyway just save often)
    3.Turn off “show overlays”
    4.Turn off dupe detection

I had similar problems, was about to throw the system in the fire. I stuck with it, followed alot of suggestions and now I am very pleased.
