Blackmagic Design DeckLink for Macintosh v5.0.1 software
Posted by Matt Dowling on August 30, 2005 at 8:06 amHi Everyone,
We have released the 5.0.1 update for Mac and it can be downloaded from
https://www.blackmagic-design.com/downloads/software/DeckLink_Macintosh_5.0.1.zipDue to popular demand, the Blackmagic codecs are now back in the installer. We also did a few tweaks so when you render from After Effects it will use the BMD compressor and decompressor – which will match the Apple codecs gamma, no more gamma shifts!
Please keep us posted on the results.
Cheers,
Regards,
Matt

August 30, 2005 at 4:26 pmMy FCP is opening and forgetting my layout settings. I just saved the project and quit. Then it tells me that it “unexpectedly quit!” I think I’ll revert to version 5, just means I’ll loose all my preferences……aaaaargh.

August 30, 2005 at 4:50 pmOK so I installed the new drivers, I’m not having the same crashing problems as the other users in this post, but I am having a problem where, when I stop the timeline the picture in the NTSC monitor gets brighter (substantially) this is making color correction very difficult. some of my shots are short and have to corrected in the stopped position. But the monitor is not showing me what i am really getting. HELP!!!!!!

August 30, 2005 at 8:23 pmWhy are these botched drivers still on the website after 12 hours? 5.0 should go back up immediately. I tried 5.01 for about two minutes and had a serious problem.
I did a simple insert edit to tape from a 10-bit sequence. It inserted a green flash at the in point and the out point. I immediately came here, saw these were screwed up, reverted to 5.0, and then tried it again. It worked fine.
