Its only 6:57am in Australia. I’m certain this will be dealt with quickly when the folks at BM find out about it. They are very much on the ball and provide support on par with any manufacturer I’ve every seen.

Everytime we update a new driver, the previous ones get moved to the archive section here:

August 31, 2005 at 2:36 amOk I have been to the archive site…. but each and every time I donwload 5.0 — going on 20 x I get the following error message:”An error has occurred while expanding the file “Decklink_Macintosh_v5.0.zip” (The archive may contain damaged content).
With no install option this then leaves me with the completely dysfunctional 5.01 and now a complete edit day lost…. 2,500 and counting.

August 31, 2005 at 5:04 amHi,
Thanks to everyone who has posted problems here regarding DeckLink for Macintosh v5.0.1. We’ve temporarily removed it from our web site based on the feedback in this forum.
We’re having a hard time replicating the problems and this is frustrating as clearly they are easy to replicate for people posting here.
As soon as we have some more information for you, we will post it here. Meanwhile reverting to the DeckLink 5.0 drivers should help until we work out what has happened.
Any further details of problems would also be appreciated as it will help minimize the time it takes us to work this one out.
Regards,
Luke Maslen

August 31, 2005 at 5:21 amHi Mark,
I’m not sure why you are experiencing a download problem but there are three things that might help.
- If you are using Safari, go in to its General preferences and disable the option to Open “safe” files after downloading. Download the file and, assuming Safari doesn’t report any error messages, open the file after it has downloaded. Alternatively, use another web browser such as Firefox.
- This might be a problem with the cache in your browser. In Safari, go to the Safari menu and choose Empty Cache. In Firefox, go the the Firefox menu and choose Preferences. Click on the Privacy tab and then click the clear button next to the word Cache. Now try to download again.
- This might be a problem with your proxy server belonging to your company or ISP. These days most ISP’s use transparent proxy servers and there is little you can do about this. However if you have a proxy server which you have had to manually configure in your System Preferences>Network>Proxies, add the domains blackmagic-design.com and decklink.com
to the bypass proxy settings list. Flush the cache of your web browser as documented in step 2. Now try downloading again
I hope this helps.

August 31, 2005 at 5:50 amI had the issue w/ doing an insert edit using 10-bit NTSC. It was inserting green flashes as the first and last frame.
I’ll tell you everything I can. I have a DL HD Plus, Dual 2.5ghz, stock ATI 9600, two Firmtek SATA external 4-port cards, 2GB RAM. Decklink is in Slot 4.
OSX 10.4.2 w/ FCP 5.02 – I can list the software installed. I have the entire FCP Studio suite w/ latest updates. Photoshop CS1, Illustrator CS1, Microsoft Office 2004, Toast 6, Multibridge Utility, PocketMac (to sync my cell phone), Kennsington Mouseworks, Macally ikey, Fetch, Firefox… that’s about it.
Final Cut plugins are… Boris Calligraphy, DVMattePro, Joe’s Filters, Natress’ Plugins, Stib’s Plugins.
I also have the SheerVideo lossless codecs installed.

August 31, 2005 at 6:33 amHi,
Your particular problem witht the screen brightening could have something to do with having “image & wireframe” or “show overlays” turned on in your canvas window.
Thanks,
Craig
