    Hi,

I recently upgraded my Deklink HDPro System to OSX 10.4.2 and latest Decklink Drivers. My exact system specs will follow, but here is my problem:

I am not getting an audio signal out through Decklink SDI video “monitor” while doing a hardware split downconvert. In other words the way I monitor audio while working in HD (because I do not own an HD deck) is to route the audio to my DVCAM deck via the Decklink SDI “monitor” output with a “hardware downconvert” chosen in the Decklink System Prefs. I watch the HD video out the primary Decklink SDI output and listen to the audio via the “monitoring” output of the Decklink.

    OK help me soon, thx,

    Craig

    System Specs:
    MAC Dual 2.5 G5
    OSX.4.2
    FCP 5.02
    Decklink HDPro (Drivers 5.1)
    QT 7.0.1 Pro
    Atto UL4D
    4.5 Gig RAM

    Hi, Craig.
Surely it would just be easier to change your audio output setting to Firewire DV?

    Hi,

This is not a valid option as the Firewire is going to add latencey to the audio and the way i was doing it in the oast aloowed for perfect sync. Also how do I layoff a downconverted DVCAM tape without audio out my SDI.

This is a bug and I do not want a work around because it used to work with the old drivers and the previous OSX.

    Thanks,
    Criag

    Hi Craig,

Which Blackmagic easy setup have you chosen in FCP5?

Does the same problem occur if you quit FCP5 and use Blackmagic Deck Control instead?

    Hi Craig,

We’ve just replicated your problem and so we’ll assign an engineer to fix it. As a temporary workaround, please use software down conversion as it does not suffer from this problem. We’ll hope to have an update for this soon. We’ve got an engineer on it now and will also need help from another one who will return from IBC next week.

BTW, how many channels of audio were you outputting and on which channels?

    Holy Cow (no pun intended)

Thankyou so much for your prompt reply , I’m not really that shocked , but how psyched am I that you guys are experiencing the same problem and are going to address as quick as you can.

WOW, Luke. $ Decklink systems is what I have and counting. Thankyou for the continuing support.

I will be able to answer questions as to # of output channels later this week, early next week.

    Thanks again,

    Craig

    Thanks Craig,

That’s nice timing as our engineers should be back from IBC by then and we’ll be able to investigate this further.
