    Hi,

I just upgraded to FCP5.02 and cannot use the original MPEG encoder that came with DVDSP to export MPEGS. I like that MPEG encoder because it is fast and easy for simple client viewing. Any suggestions???

    Thanks,

    Craig

That goes away with FCP 5 and DVDSP 4.0. You have to use Compressor to make an MPEG-2 now, yes it’s a bit annoying, but that’s the way it is.

The best way to do this is to export a reference Quicktime movie from FCP. Quit FCP, then launch Compressor and do the compression. If you use the Export To Compressor function in FCP, compressor will run extremely slow as FCP is kept running in the background.

    Hi Walter,

Please describe the simple steps to export a reference quicktime movie.

    Thanks,
    Craig

PS. I assume DVDSP 3 and 4 has a way to burn a simple “straight play” DVD as in DVDSP1.5. No menus, just play.
