  • Everytime I’ve had a problem with that it’s been because I don’t a a reel number attached to the clip. MM won’t trim clips without reel numbers for various good reasons. I worked in VFX and importing Qts you often forget to apply a reel number. Any chance that’s the problem?

I have been consolidating DVCPRO HD for the past week without a problem. I capture a full reel, subclip, then use the copy function to breakdown the media files.

The only time I’ve had a problem is when I’ve imported Dailies pulled from DVD where I forgot to attach a reel or timecode to, in that case it would always retain one file no matter what consolidate settings I would choose.

That would be ideal. I’ll have to wait to see how much they shot, to see if it’s reasonable to go to bat for that pricewise.

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes they already shot, and they choose to shoot 720 to conserve space. I’ll probably go the compressor route since I have several G5 stations to process with.

As far as the HDV workflow I thought that is what Walter was doing but wanted conformation, a little piece of mind goes along way. I’ll check out Jerry Hoffman’s article too.

    Thanks again,

Have you tried HTML embeding? A number of years ago I had to create a email mailer “postcard”, where I had to embed graphics/links into an email. It’s a bit tricky, if I remember right you can’t do it through mac Mail, at least you couldn’t then, I had to use my host company mail server (ipowerweb), and the was a setting to create HTML email. Could work, a search on google HTML email will point you in the right direction.

I would say you have a sync issue. What kind of sync are you sending to your deck/Blackmagic board? It’s been awhile since I’ve used the blackmagic board, but i usually set my deck to video in, and have my Kona on house sync. However if my Kona gets reset to Freerun or the deck setting is changed, I will typically be a frame off either way.

Oh well, thanks for the quick response. Like I said it’s not the end of the world for me to clean it out and go back to 5.1.1. Just always seem to remember something obvious I coulld have done after I’ve already reinstalled.

    Thanks again,
