  • Media Manager mare.. won’t reduce size..

No matter what I do, or click I cannot get media manager to reduce the Managed project.

I even started a new project. Impoted a single quicktime that was 30 seconds long.

Created a Sequence of 2 cuts 2seconds each from the 30″ clip.

Selected the Sequence in Browser and MediaManager> Tried all options delete unused etc.. but to no avail.. still wants to export a 519Meg file! :-/ Have followed the manual.. just not happening.

    Any pointers?

    Cheers

Everytime I’ve had a problem with that it’s been because I don’t a a reel number attached to the clip. MM won’t trim clips without reel numbers for various good reasons. I worked in VFX and importing Qts you often forget to apply a reel number. Any chance that’s the problem?

Christian , I captured live from a games console.. no reel number applied.. due to not being on tape.. nor being able to recapture.. being live an all that.

So am I shot? Or can I just give my captures Reel Numbers?

    Should I label day 1’s captures all 1 ? and day 2, 2? Or each on seperate.. as in 1 2 3 etc.. ?

    Cheers..

just add reel numbers to each clip. Since you don’t care/unable to recapture you can assign any number you want. Unless these numbers can help you trace the clips, then make some sort of numbering system, 001, 002, per capture or per day or etc.

That should take care of it.
