  • another 5.1.2 update error

I installed the update and on start up I get the error “Registration Error: An Error occured: coreFoundationUnknownErr.” I then get the start up window and then it quits.

I tried trashing my FCP System ID and entering my serials again, but got the same message. I also, tried all the pluggins from previous strings but that didn’t help either.

Reinstall is not a big deal, but before I go though that, am I missing something obvious about the System ID maybe? I checked the permissions everything seemed in order.

I’m updating from 5.1.1, I did the QT update a week or two ago and it was fine. Also I’m on a

    1.67 Ghz G4 Powerbook
    1.5 Gb RAM
    OS: 10.4.7

    Thanks,

I’m updating from 5.1.1, I did the QT update a week or two ago and it was fine. When the FCP window flashes up before it quits, FCP says it’s at 5.1.2. Also I’m on a:

    1.67 Ghz G4 Powerbook
    1.5 Gb RAM
    OS: 10.4.7

    Thanks,

Humm? Could be the plugin issue others have mentioned, see the other threads below. I had no problems here, so I can vouch for the soundness of the update.

Oh well, thanks for the quick response. Like I said it’s not the end of the world for me to clean it out and go back to 5.1.1. Just always seem to remember something obvious I coulld have done after I’ve already reinstalled.

    Thanks again,
    Christian

I’ve heard about conflicts with avid drivers and 5.1.2. You wouldn’t happen to have an avid product on the same machine?

Actually I do, xpress DV, maybe I’ll try to uninstall that first. Thanks. I’ll let you know.
