Hey Chip,
Finishing cutting a feature now with multiclips. One thing to be aware of with multiclips: no subcliping, no markers. Just a good thing to be aware of before you get too far down the line. Other than that it’s been a great experience.

No there isn’t. But for audio what I do is grab all the clips in a bin drop them into a timeline. Then I select all, hit Apple+Option+L to do a universal adjustment, then drag them back into the bin.
Not ideal, but gets the job done.

Oh that reminds me, the slip function is the one problem with this method. FCP uses the whole clip when is sliding and can mess up the multiclip. I end up with black where the rest of the master clip would be. Hard to explain, but if you try this method out, I would test that before you go to far to make sure it will suit you. Good luck.

Unfourtunately no, there is no way to make a subclip with multiclip. A work around I tried was to load the clip in the viewer set ins/outs and drag it back to a bin and rename it. However you can not append a name on to a multiclip (well you can but once you switch angles that name gets lost).
The only work around I have found is to create subclips and then multiclip those together. An easy way (easy being a loose term here) is to take your master clips, select them all and right click, choosing “Create Multiclip sequence” This will line up you clips via timecode in a timeline. Then, you choose you cut points so that your ins match, double click each broken clip to load it in the viewer, Command+U to sublcip (this is where you need to name the clips). Now you have your pieces to multiclip, sort by Media Start and they should all match up.
I know it’s a long way around, but it works. I have continually asked Apple if/when they are doing anything about this, but to no avail. It was my biggest hope for Studio 2 but nothing. Otherwise, I love the Multiclip functionality.

I don’t think it got added till FCP 5.2, so depending on your version you can search button list for “Select Next/Previous Tab” but it’s:
shift+Command+[ or ]
I map mine to just [ and ]

If I understand you correctly, you just need to select everything in the timeline, control+click on the clips, and select remove attributes. Then you just select the properties you want to remove.

Once you place them in the sequence with the correct aspect ratio settings, right click on all the selected clips and click remove attributes. Check the distort box and hit ok. Everything should pop to it’s correct aspect ratio.

Sure. My current project is a feature that includes hundreds of hours of archive film footage. So we drop the selects into the timeline and set markers. So when working with the director, we all have a hard copy that includes a nice visual of the frame, a quote from the frame, and the timecode. We also keep a paper log in a binder of all our selects with these print outs as a compliment to our Filemaker library.
I certainly wish I would have had it when I was assisting on commercial work, would have been nice for going to telecine sessions for finaling spots. Essentially treating it much like did with the Avid Print Bin function.

Are you sure they are working at 2:1. If I remember correctly from my old Meridian days, the import default will try to re-encode at the import resolution wether its 1:1, 2:1, 3:1 etc. I could be wrong, I was on an Adreneline for a short period of time.
