Mines working fine. FCP V 7.0.2

Obvious question, but are you sure nothing is oddly linked?

Does the clip have a reel number attached to it? Every time I’ve had a handles issue with media manager it’s had to do with a reel assignment.

I’m guessing with XDCAM import you had to enter one.

Yeah, I’m in the exact same boat as Shane. I’m on a hold status. Now and then I get a wave of Union jobs, but it is the exception not the rule. If a Union show comes your way, and they want you, you will get in. Editior’s Guild is not like the DPs, they are a little more laid back. There are great benefits in the Union, but you need a constant stream of hours.

When I came to LA, I joined right away, but it took 9 months before I got my first Union job. Like Shane said, they don’t help you with finding work at all, so wait till a project comes calling.

  • Could be a power supply problem. I’ve had two lacie drives act in a similar way, only to have burnt out the power cords. Do you have another drive that has the same power supply to test it?

Not exactly sure this is the answer to your problem. I know I was getting the same warning from a permissions problem. I’m guessing there is a probable chance permissions could get funky going from Windows to mac.

Our solution was to take the roll folder “A1” and create a new folder “A1b” and copy the contents and lastclip.txt file into it. it was then ok.

    Hope this helps.

You have to use a program like wave agentto convert the header of your 48k WAV files to 47.952 so FCP gets trips into thinking they are that – then they should play fine when linked tothe 23.98 picture (24 = 48 and 23.98 = 47.952

As far as deleting unused media, do your clips have reel names applied to them?

As far as the sequence, are you getting a sequence with nothing in it, or is there no sequence at all?
