    SDI is not any different from FireWire, both are totally digital. It is just a matter of your workflow preference and hardware.

    As a side note, if you look in the archives regarding SDI for monitoring, you will see many opinions that component is just as good, and that goes for capture as well. I have my Panasonic plasma client screen connected via component, and it looks beautiful in any format.

    Old school me just hates the proliferation of extra features in a f____king phone, a phone is for talking to people for God’s sake.     David, that’s completely wrong, when you pull stills from video very often there are terrible interlacing lines in the stills, which can be cured with a video filter in Photoshop. So unless I’m missing something in this thread…

    I shoot with a Canon A1 and edit on a MBP with 4 gigs RAM, I have a two bay Firmtec 1 terabite RAID 0. But you can get much more storage at RAID 5 or 6 with this same setup. But it works very well.
