Just to clarify..I’m not trying to use the cheesy page peel transition. I know how to do that. 🙂

I’ll describe this the best that I can. Imagine a drawing of a character on a 3×5 note card standing upward. I’m working on an animation where the not card it standing up…then bends over to look at something on the ground. On the back of the card is the back side of the character. make sense?

Well, I’ve tried doing this in motion and in FCP with the same results. I’m able to use the BORIS page turn effect or the curl feature in Final Cut. And they both work great until the turn of the page leaves the dimensions of my asset. Does that make sense? It basically crops off the page if it turns outside of the original viewable area of my card.

Is there any effect within the Final Cut Studio that will help me to achieve this effect completely?

Think you need to go to a full on gfx program, AE, Combustion or Shake.

You are trying to hammer a nail with a pair of pliers.

Shake doesn’t make animated characters. You need to animate an object, you need a 3D modelling application.

I was afraid that was going to be the answer, but with 3d space in motion, I was hoping there was a way to do this… thanks.

You could probably do this with Forge Freeform.

    Have a wonderful day.

If the only problem is the cropping, you just need bigger space around the card. Nest the card in a larger seq with lots of space around the card.
