Place the 3D Building Comp in a new Comp and click the Collapse Transformations Switch.
Make the layer 3D and duplicate.
You can have 20 buildings and 20 layers.

The Trapcode plugins use an installer which places the plugin and the support files in the appropriate directories. Did you use the installer?
What version of After Effects are you running?

I’ve had to do this in the past when no other formats were available. Try FFMPEG available for Mac and Windows or MPEG Streamclip.
There are several freeware tools available to extract VOB’s from non-copy protected DVD’s.

Have you tried importing the .aep file into a new project. This *sometimes* works.
Sorry to hear about your experience with Adobe support.
I know that Adobe’s phone tech support is dodgy from personal experience.
You will have better luck and find more knowledgeable people on the Adobe forums.
Todd Kopriva alone is one of the best resources and ambassadors Adobe has.

Are you importing them as a Composition or as flattened layers?
Try Import as Composition > Retain Layer Size (CS5)
OR CS4 <
Import as Composition >Cropped Layers

Any chance you’re looking at an orthogonal view? Like Front, Top, Left, Right, Bottom, Back?

I have the same Macbook Pro you currently have but I have 8 GB or RAM in it. While it is slower than my Mac Pro desktop, it renders fine.

Another method that might work for you is using an expression to set the end points of the Stroke Effect.

The Remove Grain Effect does work on an adjustment layer.
Check your preview and noise sample settings.
