OK – I have a 3d building built in AI with contains 5 layers: 4 walls and a roof – I want to DUP them in 3d space – so I know I can do DUB and move them all as a group – in need 20 buildings so that is a LOT of layers etc- I thought I could PRE-COMP but that kills the 3d Space of the building

ANY tips or suggestions so I dont have to make a ZILLION layers for EACH and every WALL and ROOF

    thanks Much RB

the FINAL result is to have 20 building back in Z Space 🙂

Place the 3D Building Comp in a new Comp and click the Collapse Transformations Switch.

Make the layer 3D and duplicate.

You can have 20 buildings and 20 layers.

Hey Brian… thanks for your kind help
can or should the building comp itself have a camera… or does it use the camera of the main comp?

so I turn on the Collapse Transformations SWITCH for the MAIN – parent comp and NOT the SOLO building comp… is this correct-
    thanks again- Robert

No camera necessary in the building precomp.

No need to collapse transformations in the precomp unless your building consists of vector artwork that has been scaled beyond 100%.
