    Thanks steve
I did a test and seemed to me that Sony was equal or possibly better.
Hard to judge, but I’m going to give it a shot.
    Thanks Again

I rarely use it as well. I’m finishing a project that’s a bit long,so I’ve been tighting a bunch of edits. I really mis-stated my problem. I would like ripple off unless I press a momentary key.
glad I’m not the only one.

My system is fine no crashes with mov files. I have two systems a desktop, and a laptop. One with 16 gig one with 8. and no problems with dual monitors on both. I think you may have misread my comment.
    Thanks

I’ve been using .mov files in Vegas with no problems since it’s release.

It may be too late for this. I use macdrive. It allows mac format to be used on windows with no problems. I would re-transfer the files.

September 27, 2013 at 2:44 pm in reply to: In Quick Time Heck

Thanks Guys. To explain the confusion.
    1) I’ve been working on this project well over a year and was at the finish line when this cropped up. 2) Frustration with Apple/quicktime/ Avid. Companies that like to determine your work flow. I was very happy with the Mainconcept mp4 ipad codec. Heck it even looks very nice on my 32 inch Plasma. Geez it even played fine in quicktime. Was annoying that I was going to have to re-render, or convert.
The Quicktime menu was so odd to me choosing MP4, doesn’t change any other setting like the audio codec.
So a lot of frustration. Just a bad day.
John you are right the video quality doesn’t matter, and you guys are both right that the Motion Jpeg is pretty good. I tried the DNXHD and it does look great but wow on the file size.
The best part about this post is I learned about John’s plug in that will allow me to get the production audio into protools. ( I was going to clean up the VO in protools and production audio in Vegas.
    Thanks Both of you again

September 25, 2013 at 4:52 am in reply to: Editing With AVCHD Not Possible?

Of course editing AVCHD is no problem in Vegas. Be sure quantize to frames was never turned off during editing video. In fact there is never a reason to turn it off. This could cause frames to be shifted off the frame boundries. Zoom in and check. 2 be sure your frame rate of your project matches your render frame rate. If all this is good, disable ressmple on all events.
