Read the licenses for each of those plugins. Most likely, they will require you to purchase new licenses if you want to install them on a 2nd machine. If the only Boris plugins you use are from Calligraphy, those are bundled with FCP, & Digital Heaven’s plugins are so cheap that it shouldn’t matter. But Boris Red, Continuum & Magic Bullet are all kinda pricey. Which mac will you be finishing the doc on? That’s the system that really needs the plugins.

Because FCP isn’t a dedicated audio program? That’s my guess. FCP’s limited use of audio filters is pretty typical of video editing apps.

What’s the original source of the still? If it didn’t originally come from a freeze frame of interlaced video, then it wouldn’t have any interlace fields to begin with. In that case what you’re seeing might be the fine details in the photo buzzing, so Jerry’s suggestion to use a tiny amount of blur should work.
If it did start life as interlaced video, though, that’s another matter. Deinterlacing should help, but a tiny bit of blur might help more.

I have very bad news for you: you really need to read your FCP manual. Not knowing which version of FCP you’re using, I can’t tell you which page or which volume of the manual to look at, but basically, you need to find out how to set you target tracks.
Please try to understand, I’m not trying to be mean or cocky, but you’re really asking a “how do I turn it on” type of question.
Read the manual. Do the tutorials.

I know you don’t want to hear this, but it’s supposed to be that way. Standard Def TVs don’t display square pixels, they display rectangular pixels. When you export a QT & look at it on your computer, it’s displaying square pixels, but when you make a DVD & play it on your computer or TV, you’re looking at rectangular pixels.
BTW, if you look up “Pixel Aspect Ratio” in the manual, you’ll find a more detailed explanation.

Funny, I’ve been getting the 3 Pluge bars since I upgraded to FCP 3. Now I’m working with FCP 5, & I’ve still got the 3 Pluge bars. I wonder if there’s something optional that needs to be installed?

Also, where are your speakers connected? They should be connected to the Cinewave, not to the Mac.

Here’s a question (to answer your question with): how many hours of footage are there total, and how many hours have you spent so far in looking for the corrupted files? At a certain point, those 2 numbers may become equal, or worse still, you spend more time looking for the file than you took to capture in the 1st place.
In that case, you may have been better off if you had just assumed that all the media was corrupt, & you could have saved time by recapturing all of the media, or at least the media you were actually using in your working cut.

Don’t know what to tell you. If you want your hand held step by step, read the manual & do the tutorials. If you want someone to do the work for you, pay an experienced DVD author.
You could also see if there are any classes or workshops on DVD authoring being offered in your area, or perhaps you could hire an experienced author as a tutor.
