Image-wise I think you’ll find you can get similar results. In terms of bells and whistles that improve the workflow surrounding the online process for conforming material other things, Resolve is ahead by 3-4 releases easily. The announced features will add a lot to ease of use and I can’t wait to give them a go.

Are you on Mac or PC? I just did a corporate job with a few HPX500s and Plural Eyes 3 winch is only available for Mac and it seemed to behave quite nicely with MXF.

Premiere and Prelude won’t burn in clip name.

This is normal. Each time you copy an asset in your library panel (or import multiple projects that share assets) it becomes it’s own entity that you can remap audio channels, adjust timecode, adjust speed, re-interpret frame rate, and so on without disturbing other instances of that asset across the project.
While, yes, it would be nice to have project manager consolidate these unaltered copies in your bins, it isn’t a feature currently.

I’d have him check theater specs. I’ve been asked a few times and besides the main program which is a true DCP with all the associated metadata, most advertisements are simplified to MPEG-2/uncompressed audio in an MXF container or simple h.264 bases MOV or MP4 files depending on the media server.

Your best bet is After Effects because you’ll need more advanced masking techniques like luma (brightness) masking.
Also, your video is password protected and I see no password in your post 😛

It’s creating two tracks with 5.1 channels and mapping 1-4 as instructed in Adobe’s help file and 4-8 similarly in the second 5.1 track.
There are other issues with mapping and batch processing, I just abandoned the idea of batching P2 so I have the client an XML project of everything synced on the timeline.
Trying to be clever didn’t pay off in this instance.

Adaptive is for really hardcore routing, say, if you have camera tracks with 8 tracks of audio that need to be mapped all over the place.
Stick with mono tracks that are panned left and right, and then mapped to corresponding stereo pairs (the sequence creator and the audio mixer will let you set pairs like 1+2 or 3+4). Your audio meters will have extra buttons to monitor stereo pairs as well.

Premiere has this strange implementation that to export P2 I have to map the channels as two tracks of 5.1 and it doesn’t allow me that option with all the other trickery I have to pull… worth seeing what Vegas can do in this instance.
