In your mixer, hard pan channel one left and track 2 to the right
In your library, right click your sequence and select “Modify > Audio Channels”, set your audio to multichannel, set 2 channels, and map left to channel 1 and right to channel 2.
Your MOV export will now also have some additional options for discrete audio tracks.

You would export a DPX sequence from Resolve and bring it into a timeline in Premiere. At this point it will be 2K. You will then lay in your mixed audio.
You can then export a 1080HD ProRes or H.264 video from there. In other words, you aren’t exporting anything ready to deliver to anyone from Resolve – not in this workflow anyways.
DXP is basically uncompressed video and is considered a high quality intermediate and mastering format.

XML to Resolve > Relink original media. This allows you access to the 5K frame if you need to pan & scan for reframing of the RED material.
If you have any effects in Premiere, render these sections out as DPX sequences, and replace these portions manually in Resolve.
Export the result to DPX. It will get married to your audio during DCP mastering. Resolve is not a suitable solution for dealing with audio in any way shape or form.
You can also marry the DPX sequence with audio in Premiere if you feel you need a ProRes master (some festivals only take this format).

Render out a DPX image sequence. This will have to go to a DCP mastering step if you want a theater-ready master.
DCP full container 2K is 2048×1080, although there are exact sizes available for 1.85, 2.39, and 16:9 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Cinema_Package for more info.

GoPro Cineform should be free for frames sized 1080 and smaller. This hasn’t changed since GoPro’s acquisition (I believe the acquisition is the reason it’s now free in this capacity).
If you have a larger sequence/source file than that, that may be your issue.
