How to export as Cineform in CS6
Hello. Thanks in advance for reading, and hopefully helping.
I would like to enable the ability to export as Cineform. I have the CineForm Studio Free installed, which I’m using with my GoPro Hero 3. I can select .avi within the export dialog. When I try to export, it complains that I don’t have a liscence to use it, even though it’s free and issued with my GoPro. I assume it doesn’t allow using the codec outside its own program; that is, within CS6. If that’s the case, I can understand it, but it’s a shame. I’ve seen a lot of posts all over about this issue with varying responses and reactions. I would prefer clear and concise info, but anything that may help will be most appreciated.
Also, if the above assumption is true, is the restriction a new one, instituted more recently, like, perhaps, when GoPro acquired the rights?

GoPro Cineform should be free for frames sized 1080 and smaller. This hasn’t changed since GoPro’s acquisition (I believe the acquisition is the reason it’s now free in this capacity).
If you have a larger sequence/source file than that, that may be your issue.
