Hi Steven
Please can you send a short example clip to the following email address.
1 or 2 frames in a motion file then zipped will be suitable.
pcsupport@blackmagic-design.com.The formats I have been using with Nuendo are Uncompressed 8 and 10bit and MJPEG exported from Premiere Pro 2.0. Where did you media originate and what compression rate ?
Thank You
Andrew

October 27, 2006 at 1:44 am in reply to: what should my BM capture settings be for my online with my declick HD?Hi Jeremiah
The Varicam 720 23.98 preset will produce 8bit Uncompressed media @ 23.98fps.
Depending on whether your camera was set to 59.94hz or 60hz will depend whether it will capture correctly.
If unsure – perform a quick test using the 720 59.94hz and 60hz and see which format is captured.
Decklink 5.7 includes Varicam support with Uncompressed 8bit and MJPEG.
Let me know how you progress.

Component and SDI Cables can be made to suit any installation.
SDI is limited to 300 feet. 90 metres.
100 SDI connectors, 300 feet of SDI cable and a crimping tool are approx 450 USD.
Thats alot of cables. -

October 26, 2006 at 12:33 am in reply to: able to change “No Video Input” splash screen?Hi Mortimer
“No Video input” is generally seen when you loose signal when capturing a Deck has been disconnected etc. In this case you would edit out these in the NLE.
If you are seeing “No Video input” when printing to tape the issue maybe else where.
Please can you outline your workflow as to when these messages are displayed.Include your system configuration, decklink location and model and driver versions you are using.
Either email – pcsupport@blackmagic-design.com or post response to the cow.
Thank you.

When you import a Quicktime file the Audio is required to be conformed for playback on the Premiere Pro Project.
Recommend using the Premiere pro capture functionality for a more consistent workflow.
As you are on PC I would recommend using AVI extension as this is the native format.
please email pcsupport@blackmagic-design.com if you have further issues.

October 24, 2006 at 5:24 am in reply to: How to view full screen SD on a HD monitor via MBX boxHi
System Preferences > Decklink > Output > DVI settings – You will then open a control panel for the DVI interface. Here you can adjust and increase the SD output to fill the entire screen.

Hi Ray
To begin please review the following link which outlines the differences in support on X32 and X64
Should I run XP32 or XP64.
https://www.blackmagic-design.com/support/detail.asp?techID=160Originally X64 drivers were released for usage by Decklink Software developers who needed to run this platform. Depending on your workflow you may find that X32 offers more functionality and support.
Hardware.
Decklink HD Extreme requires a 4x PCIe connection both phyisically and electrically.
This is the minimum requirement.
.
The intel boards listed at do not have PCI-X controllers
https://www.blackmagic-design.com/support/detail.asp?techID=160This limits the Disk array controllers available for your HD system.
If you have anymore questions let me know.

Resolution can be adjusted via Preferences > Output Quality – Faster and More Accurate.
To test – Export the same clip from FCP to After Effects and to Photoshop and compare.
If the issue persists please send a 1 frame sample of the originating file and I will review here.
Ensure you are using Decklink 5.7.2 in this test.

Only broadcast formats are supported via Decklink devices.
SD and HD resolutions.
It is possible to output your Desktop via a Decklink device, again the format will be broadcast only.
