  • If your machines run Max they should have no problems with NET render. Not sure about your serials question.

[Michael Munkittrick] “PolyTrans can change it, but the Max file textures do not translate very well and often get either realigned or omitted completely”
No, Polytrans can only convert a Max file if you have Max installed on your computer.

One option is to download the Max demo which is fully functional for 30 days.

Other than Darktree the only real option is finalRender Stage-2, which includes a texture tree system that works with the Xpresso interface. Unfortunately fR-2 for Mac still hasn’t been released and there’s no telling when it will be. :/

While you’re at Lennart’s site definitely check out SteadyCam Pro; it’s a sweet plugin for controlling camera animation–highly recommended.

  • Use a sweepNURBS to create the tunnel and apply a material with bump and/or displacement. You can get some very cool effects if you enable the sub-poly displacement option. Then you can use the sweep path as your camera track.

Exactly, except I’m not sure that Tak wanted to randomize the grid so you could have knocked off a few seconds. 🙂

It would be nice if vibrate worked from the selected object’s location. If you had MoGraph you could set this up in under 20 seconds. :p

The presets are just that–you can enter whatever parameters you want in the pixel dimension and framerate fields. As I understand it, 50i is 1920 x 1080 @ 25 interlaced fps. So, just enter those parameters in the appropriate fields if you intend to render interlaced. Double the frame rate if you’re going to interlace in your compositing or editing application (recommended).

Another option is to select your points and then run Structure>Set Point Value. Under “All”, select Crumple (Normal), and play with the value. Then drop your plane in a HyperNURB object to smooth it out.

  • Make sure you save out to .ai version 8 or below.
