    Hi Tony

Thank you very much for your e-mail.

I think you have solved my problem. I had done everything but trying the sequence in a new project. (which I actually thought about when I got home last nite then of course forgot about it until I read your reply to my post this morning.

I have just copied the sequence and pasted it into a new project and my problem is gone!

Also I never imported a project into a new project is it just a matter of file import then select the project I want to import. ?

    Thanks again.

    Hi

I have just opened an older version of the project from the autosave vault. Surprisingly this version does not have the same problem which rules out any storage issues I guess. It might be a corrupt file that I must have imported since then.

However I am not sure how to go about finding this corrupt file. Is there a programme that can do this?

I think this also might mean that the project is corrupted, is there a way of fixing a corrupt project?

Sorry too many questions but any advice is much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi there,thanks for the reply.

The project is 160meg, and the sequence is about 100 mins there is about 1.27tb worth of footage. The footage is mainly consists of half hour tapes. I have no overly large graphics.

PS: I have just run repair permissions, then re-started the mac but this didn’t solve anything. I have heard of a Disk Warrior programme that re-builds the start up disk directory. I wonder if this worth trying??

Also one last thing if there is a corrupt file something that was imported from a CD or DVD, Is there a way of detecting this? I heard that there is a programme for AVID users that does this.

    Thanks

June 5, 2006 at 2:38 pm in reply to: project takes to long to open 🙁

    Thank you for your reply

Actually now the programme isn’t running so smothly and as you stated it is dropping frames and taking much longer to do things. If moving the media onto a second drive will help run FCP smoothly I don’t mind that the project will take longer to open.

I think I will move 10 gig of my media onto the second drive, is that enough amount to move?

    Thanks

Yes I did and it worked. 🙂

Then I dragged the audio and the video file into a track, which I can play but when I go to simulator there is nothing to play. Does this mean nothing will be burned onto dvd?

    Thanks

    Hi John

Thanks for the reply and yes I was trying to the below, reason for it the client wants burnt in timecode on the digi.

[John Pale] “The timecode generator filter is for burned in timecode…I will assume that is not what you want because that would be kinda weird in this instance. (but who knows)”

Is it not possible to record the timecode created by timecode generator? Is it something Digi Beta’s dont do.

    Thanks

May 15, 2006 at 4:48 pm in reply to: match framing???

    Thanks guys.

    Another quick question.

I know you can match frame a clip and this will open the master clip in the viewer window.

Is there there a function that shows the clips in the browser? other than using the command>find option.

    Thanks

    Zee 🙂
