match framing???
Posted by Zeliha Bozkurt on May 15, 2006 at 2:52 pmHi
I have a clip on my timeline and when I match frame it, it gives me the Subclip it derives from. Is there a way to match frame subclips to the original master clip.
Cheers Zee 🙂

May 15, 2006 at 3:25 pmIt’s one of the modifier keys and your MatchFrame key… Shift-F? Command-F? Control-F or Option-F…. I forget, but some ‘sparimentin should do it for you.
Good luck,

May 15, 2006 at 3:46 pmThere isn’t any way to match frame back to the original clip from which the subclip was taken. You can however use Cmd-Opt-F to match frame back to a new copy of the original media file. This is not, however, the master clip that’s in the browser, but a new iteration of the master media file itself.
All the best,
Tom

Another quick question.
I know you can match frame a clip and this will open the master clip in the viewer window.
Is there there a function that shows the clips in the browser? other than using the command>find option.
Thanks
Zee 🙂

May 15, 2006 at 6:38 pmyou can reverse match-frame (if I remember correctly) from the Viewer by hitting “f” to match back to the timeline, which is great, btw.
But for the browser, I’d try shift-f to reveal the Master clip?

Hey, that worked! Shift-F in the Viewer highlights the source clip in the bin.
Nice!

May 16, 2006 at 6:01 amDang! Well, all I can say is a lot of people missed a couple of great concerts by a fantastic military band with a conductor that rivals the best.
Oh well.
