    Hi

I am doing a playout on to a VHS. I nested my sequence to be able to apply the Timecode generator filter. However when I watched the playout back there seemed to be problems like audio and video dissolves would become straight cuts randomly.

Is there a way of getting round this problem?
Or is there a better way of applying timecode on to the sequence.

    Thanks

    Zee.

[Zeliha] “However when I watched the playout back there seemed to be problems like audio and video dissolves would become straight cuts randomly.”

Sounds like your system is not robust enough to play this out in real time without render.

Try reducing your video playback quality or render all your dissolves (or render everything). If you want to render everything, make sure all items are checked in the render menus (the dark green defaults to unchecked because it is full quality–no render needed unless you have problems like this)

    Thanks for the replay.

If I check all the items in the render menu would it take much longer to render it?

[Zeliha] “would it take much longer to render it?”

Possibly, depends on your system and the length of the timeline. Maybe not. If you render everything, you may need lots of disk space depending on the length of your project also.

Try rendering only the dissolves and other effects first (using “render selection”). Then nest and appy the timecode filter…it may work in realtime.
Its entirely dependent on the capablility of your system.
