July 11, 2006 at 3:57 pm in reply to: can you import audio OMF files into FCP?

    Hi Todd

    Thanks for the quick response

I must mention that I managed to import the same OMF file into the FCP by using Automatick Duck Pro Export.

So does this mean in order to import OMF files into Final Cut I need a plug in such as Automatic Duck.

I have also been told that OMF files exported by FCP’s built-in OMF export cannot be imported into an Avid editing system. Is this true?

    Thanks

    Hi Matt

    Thank you for the reply.

Never done this before but I might give it a try.

So you are saying that modifying reel names will make things go offline?

    Cheers

Thank you all for all the information.

    EDL’s aren’t a mystery for me anymore.

[Arniepix] “EDLs, by definition will only export 1 video track.”

    Is that for definite?

I just gave the production team an EDL of this 100 programme to calculate archive footage usage.

I think I am going to have to re do it 🙁

June 16, 2006 at 9:56 am in reply to: can firewire capture variable data rate

    Hi

    Another question to add.

[David Roth Weiss] “DV tape captured via firewire will yield DV quality video, no more, no less.”

If I capture DV tape using 8 bit does it improve the quality of the footage?

    Cheers

  • Thanks for the reply.

I normally give them a Quicktime with Burnt in timecode. But they want to be able to see he whole timeline to get things accurate and also acces to the footage
I was thinking about suggesting them to get a mini MAC and give them the consolidated project.

Would mac minimac be capable of running FCP5 mainly to watch consolidated projects not for editing.

    Thanks

    Zee.

June 6, 2006 at 10:53 am in reply to: how do I copy a project in to a new project

    Thanks for the advice

I have started copying but it seems to be taking forever 🙁

I think its one of the clips in my archive footage bin is corrupted. Because as soon as I dragged that bin into the new project, the problems started occuring again.

    Cheers

    Zee.
