I’ve emailed BM about this as well. What I’ve started doing is going through and assigning reel names to all clips in FCP – that extra 30 minutes spent in FCP saves a thousand headaches down the line in Resolve.
Also, I’d love for there to be a choice in Resolve to conform by “reel” field or “clipname” field, because honestly that’s more common in FCP workflows.

Around 8 fps was what I was getting but I wasn’t sure if this was because I was reading/writing media on the same drive, as opposed to a RAID.
So the slow render is just a pro-res on windows issue it seems?

Tested it earlier today – it does indeed render ProRes (but not 4444). It feels like this should be bigger news!

Is this the issue you’re running into?
I unfortunately don’t know of a solution to that myself.

Can there be correlation to codecs in use? I pretty much never see this error when working on a single format clean conform project (all R3D, all DPX, all ProRes, etc), but the moment I have mixed formats, things like H264 from the 5D, GoPro, this problem pops up.

I’ve owned both and unfortunately you’re going to have a love hate relationship with either one. At the end of the day they’re both very budget panels with lots of drawbacks.
Wave:
Buttons are fast to press, with very little downforce. You get 9 bank knobs which is 3 more than MC Color which is good. The pages are fairly well designed, but you’re still going to be switching between pages a lot. The shuttle wheels are wobbly but the trackballs are fairly stable and smooth and have metal bearings.It looks ugly and has a lot of empty space but it is fairly comfortable from an ergonomics perspective.
MC Color:
I love having dedicated grade copy/paste buttons. The trackwheels are extremely smooth and the trackballs are okay. Plastic bearings make me afraid they will one day wear out and stop being smooth but I haven’t experienced that yet.You have 9 soft keys which are modified by 4 alt keys, so theoretically you have fast access to 45 functions. I’ve just found it hard to memorize where they all are but I’m getting better at that.
The biggest problem with MC Color is in DaVinci’s choice of button assignment though – for example next shot/previous shot is an alt key maneuver, which makes it very annoying to navigate the timeline. This, in all honesty, is my biggest problem with the board.

Strangely, sometimes the error comes up with a timecode of where it went wrong, and other times, it does not. I honestly haven’t looked carefully enough to when’s what, but I think it depends on source/target render modes. So unfortunately, sometimes I’m left hunting it down manually.

In the meantime, is there any way to quickly find out which frame(s) were dropped? That’s my least favorite part about the error – not being able to find where it messed up.

Forgot to mention – this was exactly my experience with Lion. The MC Color would have to be toggled in this fashion – switch to Wave, then back.
Then I switched back to Snow Leopard and my life has gotten much easier

Try setting the euphonix to manual IP instead of DHCP. That’s my setup and I never have problems.
