October 3, 2011 at 9:35 amHI, I think the first step is to make sure each morning that the Euphonix panel is talking to the EuCon application. This is the app supplied with the panel by Avid. Once that comms is working, Resolve should connect to the panel via this EuCon with ease. If the panel is connected to EuCon and will not to Resolve please let the support guys know. davincihelp@blackmagic-design.com

October 3, 2011 at 9:49 amSit tight and work hard so you can afford the Element 🙂
Seriously, that and the whole ethernet thing is the reason I am not getting the Euphonix.
The Wave is so much easier to handle and the layout much more accesible. But ranting asside, start minimizing potential fails.
Try connecting it directly to your Mac for example.
Try it with Avid , make sure you have the latest EuCon and firmware.
See hoe that goes and then splice it back to your network.
It took my six hours one time to get it into an existing company network, but then it was stable.A slice of color…

October 3, 2011 at 10:43 amyes you have right Sascha.
but for me the Euphonix looks nice the touch is good and works smoothly.
The problem i think is the EuCon and the network, but at the some time meaningless. the old 2k panels work great the CP100 work great too by network.NG

October 3, 2011 at 12:50 pmOne thing I found with the Euphonix is that it seems to work better in Ethernet #1 on the Mac-Pro. I had one running with Color before Resolve and using the port 1 ethernet seemed to clear connectivity up for me.

October 3, 2011 at 3:06 pmTry setting the euphonix to manual IP instead of DHCP. That’s my setup and I never have problems.

October 3, 2011 at 6:09 pmUSB vs Ethernet, it’s not an issue if it’s set up correctly, and setting it up is very straight-forward, I use the JL Cooper Eclipse and it starts up first time everytime, I also used to use an Euphonix and had absolutely no issues what-so-ever…
With regards to the Element, better wait until it comes out before applauding it.

October 3, 2011 at 6:16 pmThere is another trick. In Resolve go to preferences and select Wave or other panel, than conform this (enter password and OK), than go back in prefs and do it again. Resolve will prompt you that it needs to restart to take that action to work, bu it doesn’t have to. This way works for me 3 times per week.

October 3, 2011 at 6:46 pmForgot to mention – this was exactly my experience with Lion. The MC Color would have to be toggled in this fashion – switch to Wave, then back.
Then I switched back to Snow Leopard and my life has gotten much easier

October 3, 2011 at 8:09 pmPlugged in the MC Color using DHCP, updated firmware, installed Eucon software, selected it in Resolve, done. Not a single issue with connection, ever.
The most important issue, is the Eucon software has to be running BEFORE you use Resolve. If you do it otherwise, then above mentioned switching back and forth trick takes care of that.
